  • "aolbonics" module re-installed and fixed

Wednesday 2011-11-09 01:59 PM EST by jonez

I have moved the 'aolbonics' module to it's own site and I am currently updating the skin so it is consistent with my other sites. Eventually users will be able to add new entries and edit existing entries.

  • the Priest's retirement dinner

Tuesday 2011-07-12 03:03 PM EDT by jonez in entertainment

A Priest was being honored at hisretirement dinner after 25 years in the parish.

A leading local politician and member of the congregation were chosen to make the presentation and to give a little speech at the dinner. However, since the politician was delayed, the Priest decided to say his own few words while they waited:

"I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me, he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled. But as the days went on, I learned that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people."

Just as the Priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late.

He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk: "I'll never forget the first day our parish Priest arrived, said the politician. In fact, I had the honor of being the first person to go to him for confession."

  • Kudos from a Dataslab Customer

Friday 2011-03-25 05:40 PM EDT by jonez
Whenever I've had problems with my web and mail servers, DataSlab's customer support has been available in IRC within minutes, and the troubleshooting there has always been competent, even when the problems were specific to my configuration. Planned maintenance and hardware upgrades have been actively coordinated so they wouldn't interfere with the needs of my business. When there's a hardware or network problem, it's immediately and transparently announced in IRC so you know the problem will be fixed within hours. All in all, DataSlab's customer support and communication is by far the best I've ever experienced. - Mathias Rav

keith sent me some links[1][2][3] to a band called "skillet". they have a mildly heavy sound which makes it hard for me to hear the lyrics, but there's a good beat.

  • To God from the Dog

Sunday 2010-06-13 12:54 PM EDT by jonez in entertainment
    TO:  GOD
    FROM: THE DOG

Dear God:  Is it on purpose our names are the same, only reversed?

Dear God:  Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one
    another?

Dear God:  When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch?  Or is it
    still the same old story?

Dear God:  Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the
mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named
for a Dog?  How often do you see a cougar riding around?  We do love a nice
ride!  Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the
    'Chrysler Beagle'?

Dear God:  If a Dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears
him, is he still a bad Dog?

Dear God: We Dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals,
whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic
+energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths.  What do humans understand?

Dear God:  More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.

Dear God:  Are there mailmen in Heaven?  If there are, will I have to
    apologize?

Dear God:  Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must
remember to be a good Dog.

    1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it
    up.

    2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like
    the way they smell.

    3. The Litter Box is not a cookie jar.

    4. The sofa is not a 'face towel'.

    5. The  garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.

    6. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.

    7.  Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is an unacceptable way of saying
    'hello'.

    8. I don't need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm under the coffee
    table .

    9. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house - not
    after.

    10. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.

    11. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch.

    12. The  cat is not a 'squeaky toy' so when I play with him and he makes
that  noise, it's usually not a good thing.

When I get to Heaven can I have my testicles back?
